Das Forum of European Neuroscience ist mit mehreren tausend Teilnehmern der größte europäische Kongress der Hirnforschung. Die Hertie-Stiftung hat die Patenschaft über einen der Hauptvorträge dieses Kongresses übernommen.

2012

Die fünfte Hertie Foundation Lecture fand am 17. Juli 2012 auf dem Forum of European Neuroscience in Barcelona statt. Prof. Dr. Mu-ming Poo (Berkeley, USA) referierte zum Thema
„Activity- and neurotrophin-dependent synaptic plasticity“.

2010

Die vierte Hertie Foundation Lecture fand auf dem Forum of European Neuroscience in Amsterdam am 5. Juli 2010 statt. Die Nobelpreisträgerin Frau Prof. Dr. Linda Buck (Seattle, USA) referierte zum Thema „Mechanisms of odor and pheromone sensing in mammals“.

2008

Die dritte Hertie Foundation Lecture war für Juli 2008 auf dem Forum of European Neuroscience in Genéve geplant. Der Nobelpreisträger Prof. Dr. Paul Greengard (New York, USA) sollte die Lecture mit folgendem Titel halten: „Signal transduction pathways used by therapeutic agents and drugs of abuse." Leider musste diese Hertie Foundation Lecture aus Krankheitsgründen entfallen.

2006

Die zweite Hertie Foundation Lecture fand auf dem Forum of European Neuroscience in Wien am 9. Juli 2006 statt. Der Nobelpreisträger Prof. Dr. Eric Kandel (New York, USA) referierte zum Thema „The Vienna School of Medicine and the origins of Austrian expressionism“.

2004

Die erste Hertie Foundation Lecture fand am 11. Juli 2004 in Lissabon statt. Prof. G. J. Laurent (Pasadena, USA) hielt den Vortrag „Neural codes for odor: why are circuit dynamics useful?“
