BIM
Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research

The Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research (BIM)  was founded in 2014 to carry out research on integration and migration issues. It brings together different scientific perspectives and methods from social sciences, ethnology, educational science, economics, psychology, medicine, and sports science. A focus is on the role of first and second language competence in the educational success of young people. The founding organizations, the Hertie Foundation, the Federal Agency for Employment and the German Football Association, support the institute financially and contribute their own data and surveys.
