Club of Three

The Club of Three, supported by the Hertie Foundation, fosters confidential exchanges between leading figures from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany on issues of European cooperation, resilience, and Europe’s global role. Cross-sector dialogue and personal encounters deepen mutual understanding and provide impetus for a strong European community.

The Hertie Foundation supports the Club of Three, a German-French-British initiative that brings together leading figures from business, politics, media and academia. The aim is to exchange new ideas in a confidential atmosphere, develop solutions to global challenges and strengthen Europe's role as an international player.

Further democracy projects with a European dimension

We also place a strong emphasis on Europe in other key areas of our work within the "Strengthening Democracy" division. At the Young Security Conference, young people from across Europe engage in discussions on security policy and provide impetus for cooperation. Our study on a possible European Year of Service demonstrates how a year of civic engagement could empower young Europeans and foster cohesion. Meanwhile, Jugend debattiert in Europa promotes a culture of debate and democratic skills while creating spaces for exchange on European issues and values.
